Our Pastor

Pastor Jacob Mendoza holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Pioneer Baptist Bible College and a three year certificate from Faith Bible Institute. He served from 2001 to 2012 at Westside Baptist Church under Pastor Richard Butts as Sunday School teacher and Bus Captain in the Spring Branch Houston Area, now in Katy Texas . Following his college graduation, he served as youth pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Tomball, Tx under Michael James.  Pastor Jacob was born and raised in North Houston, and moved his family to the Northside area in 2014, to serve as the pastor of Helmers Street Baptist Church. HSBC was founded in 1949, in the heart of Houston, by Brother John Duckett.

Pastor Jacob and his wife Elizabeth have three children, Sarah, Samuel an Seth. He has a tremendous burden for the Houston Community, an area with a population of almost three million people.
